Artificial intelligence (AI)

 Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to a copy of human intelligence. All human tasks are performed perfectly, including problem-solving, decision-making, and language processing. Now, AI is transforming various industries such as companies, economies, and even challenging our understanding of what it means to be human. AI is used in many sectors such as health care, finance, education, transportation, manufacturing, customer service, content creation, etc.

In the 1950s, Artificial intelligence was introduced, but at that time, no impact was produced. In 2020s, the Gen AI was very impact to the society.

Machine learning

In the 1980s, Machine learning was introduced more than 70 years ago. In Machine learning, AI learn the historical data. There are many types of machine learning algorithms, including linear regression, decision trees, random forest, Support Vector Machines(SVMs), k-nearest neighbour, clustering, and more. Each of the algorithms is suitable for different kinds of problems and data.

Benefits of AI

  •  Automation and repetitive tasks.
  •  More and faster insights into data.
  •  Enhanced decision making.
  •  Fewer human errors.
  •  24/7 availability.
  •  Reduce physical risks.

Weak AI

Weak AI is also known as "Narrow AI". Weak AI is designed to perform a specific task or a set of tasks. Examples of weak AI are smart voice assistant apps such as Amazon's Alexa, Apple's Siri, a social media chatbot, or a self-driving car without a driver.. Weak AI does not have self-awareness. It could only play chess, recognize faces, or translate language.

Strong AI

Strong AI is also known as "Artificial General Intelligence"(AGI) or "General AI". Strong AI is a type of AI that can think, learn, and make decisions like a human. But it not fully developed, it is a future goal.

History of AI

In 1950, Turing introduced the Turing Test to determine machine intelligence. The term "Artificial Intelligence" was first used in 1956. First, AI could solve math problems and play basic games like chess. It was high expectations led to disappointments. In the 1980s, AI came back to work the decision-making based on rules. AI moved towards machine learning using learn patterns. In the 2010s, Deep learning and Neural Networks powered huge advances. AI systems like Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Chatbots. Now, researchers are working on Strong AI. In the future, Strong AI will be implemented in society.
